Abstract :
The aim of this study was to investigate whether or not there is any relationship between organizational culture and organizational citizenship behavior of employees in public, private and social security hospitals and identify the type of culture which has the highest effect on enhancement of organizational citizenship behavior. The statistical population included all personnel employed in hospitals in Qazvin province that were equal to 3320 persons and the statistical sample included 345 employees who were estimated with regard to each class using stratified random sampling method. The study was conducted using descriptive-correlation method and measurement tools included Dennisonʹs organizational culture questionnaire and Organʹs questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaires was confirmed by supervisor and advisor professors and due to the fact that they are standard questionnaires and have been used in many of the previous studies. Reliability coefficient of the questionnaires was obtained equal to 0.92 for organizational culture and 0.78 for organizational citizenship behavior in a primary sample consisted of thirty persons. By means of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics methods (Kolmogoroff-Smirnoff test, t-test, F test, Pierson correlation coefficient, linear regression and multiple-variable variance analysis) the results revealed that mean score of organizational culture in public, private and social security hospitals was equal to 3.27, 3.91 and 3.56 respectively (the maximum score is equal to 5). Mean score of organizational citizenship behavior in public, private and social security hospitals was equal to 3.26, 4 and 3.51 respectively. Results of testing the hypotheses showed that correlation between the two variables is significant and this confirms theoretical infrastructure of the study according to which organizational culture as a motivating and facilitating factor is effective on appearance of employeesʹ organizational citizenship behavior.
