Abstract
Germanium nanocrystals (NC) are observed by Raman spectroscopy in germanosilicate-core fibres previously loaded with hydrogen and annealed at temperatures above 1000∘C. The conditions of the appearance of the Ge NC Raman band in the optical fibres are described and possible mechanisms of their formation are analysed.
