Abstract :
Studies on the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of collagen, keratin and bone have been performed with a constant heating rate, in a temperature range of 295–460 K and an electric field strength of 1.00±0.05 kV/m. The differences observed in thermograms were due to different structures of the biological materials studied. The materials differed in their electrical conductivity and activation energy of charge conduction process. Raising temperature caused the change in the electrical conductivity; however this increase was not continuous. Consecutive heating runs resulted in a reduced electrical conductivity.
