(η5-Cyclopentadienyl)Fe(CO)2 complexes of barbiturate anions

Visible-light irradiation of CpFe(CO)2I with 5,5-diethyl-, 5-ethyl-5-phenyl- and 5-ethyl-5-(1-cyclohexenyl)barbiturate in the presence of diisopropylamine brings about formation of mono- and bis-CpFe(CO)2 complexes of barbiturate anions in moderate yields.
