Homogenization of a contact problem for a system of densely situated punches

A linear contact problem of an elastic half space with rigid punches ε-periodically situated on a bounded part of the boundary of the elastic solid is investigated. Using the method of homogenization theory and the method of matched asymptotic expansions, the leading terms of the asymptotic solution are constructed as ε→0. The general capacity of the contact spot is introduced and some its properties are described.
