Abstract :
This paper describes an innovative and advanced system for remaining life assessment of industrial high-temperature components developed at MPA Stuttgart, Germany and being currently introduced into the power plants in Germany and several other countries. The system is a corporate memory system, essentially meaning that all the information/knowledge of a corporation (company, institute, etc.) should be maximally exploited in future activities of the company, with minimum changes in the existing structure of the data/information/knowledge already available. The system has two main aspects of practical implementation: (1) the organizational one, represented by MPA LifeTech: and (2) the software system one represented by the ʹparent systemsʹ WISDOM and ALIAS for the management of information and application of related tasks. © 1999 Elsevier Science S.A.
