Abstract :
The estimation is based on the proposed theoretical hypothesis explaining the experimentally registered process of increase in thickness of a water film at the internal surface of a hydrophilic capillary, under the effect of a constant electric field. The capillary is filled with two fluids (an aqueous solution and a nonpolar fluid—a gas or an organic liquid). The theoretical and experimental data are shown to be well consistent at a value of the orientation component in constant electric fields with a strength of 103–104 V/m estimated to be of the order of magnitude 0.6.
