Abstract :
Glass from the Bi2O3–TiO2–B2O3 system was formed by rapid quenching of the melt. After annealing at 500 °C, the glass crystallized in the form of plate-like particles. The particles thus formed were separated through an acid treatment. Field emission scanning electron microscopy showed a layered structure for the particles. XRD observations revealed that the crystalline form was Bi4Ti3O12, a useful material in the electronics industry.
