Abstract :
Masonry walls change brittleness and gain ductility with reinforcement in the bed joint. The dynamic force enhancement increase by a factor of 4 in comparison to unreinforced brickwork. Reinforced masonry walls can be used for blast loading conditions. Experimental test results and design rules are described.
