Abstract :
Spreading behavior of PFPE lubricants on smooth disk surfaces was studied. Mobility of these lubricants as a function of molecular weight, degree of degradation and molecular structure was analyzed. It was found that the presence of the functional end groups in the polymeric molecule had a very strong effect on the diffusivity of the lubricants.
