Abstract :
In this study, GNRs (gold nanorods) were used to enhance the sensitivity of the biosensor for Escherichia coli O157:H7 in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system. GNRs were designed and fabricated through seed-medicated growth and surface activation by alkanethiols for the attaching antibody. Antibodies for E. coli O157:H7 were immobilized on GNRs and measured by using UV–visible spectroscopy and sandwich assays were carried out to detect E. coli O157:H7 using Spreeta. This experiment is expected to play a key role in increasing sensitivity in other biosensor experiments and photothermal therapy.
