Abstract :
In this paper, MnOOH nanobelts were synthesized and used as the sensing material to fabricate a modified glassy carbon electrode (n-MnOOH electrode) for simultaneously detecting dopamine (DA) from ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA). It was found that the MnOOH nanobelts mediated the oxidation of DA with a much higher efficiency than other Mn2+/Mn4+ containing materials. As a result, the n-MnOOH electrode exhibited good sensing performance for determination of dopamine with a linear range between 1.2 μM and 200 μM (2.3% RSD), detection limit of 0.1 μM and sensitivity of 3.77 μA μM−1 cm−2. High selectivity toward DA from ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) at their maximum physiological concentrations was also observed, which implies the promising application for various bioelectrochemical sensors.
