Abstract :
Greenhouse thrips Heliothrips heamorrhoidalis is an polyphagouspest which attacks to a lot of jungle plants and fruit trees in spite of kiwi fruit. Biology and changes of population in greenhouse thrips were studied along the years of 2006-2008. Because of high level of kiwifruit cultivation in the west of Mazandaran, the sampling has performed from two kinds of kiwifruit gardens in Khoshkdaran desert and Khorram Abad. In each garden we selected 10 trees of several years old and from each one we took, 10 leaves (the total of it is 100 leaf in each section of sampling), in random from of 4 sides of it and the number of mature insects and the stages of immature growth includes of the first and second larvae, prepupae had recorded. The studies showed that this species has 4-5 generation per year and overwinter as adults. The larvae reared on the leaves of kiwifruit at 26±0.5?? and 67± 3% R.H. The results showed that the first and second larvae, prepupae, pupae and adults 7.7, 8.2, 1.2, 1 and 12 day, respectively. The first and second larvae and adults feeding from connection place of petiole to leaf as sap sucking. The leaves densities and shadow increased population of the thrips. The larvae and adults stages of thrips damage to leaves of kiwifruits. The symptom of thrips on the leaves are as points and black spots. All of the stages of growth in insects were observed on the plantʹs leaf. The number of 4 population peaks were determined. The population peaks in Khoshkehdaran region observed on August, September, October and December months and in the Khorramabad on August, September, October and Novomber months. The population densities were in Khoshkehdaran more than Khorramabad region.
