Abstract :
The problem of obtaining new perspective biological preparations, which will be effective against the Colorado potato beetle, does not lose urgency. The aim of our study was the selection of the new strains of B. thuringiensis from the natural populations of insects, appreciation their entomopathogenic properties in comparison with the production (standard) and collection strains, identifying and exploring technological properties of promising strains for the production of biopreparations. The strains of crystal-forming bacteria (0371, 0411, 0486) were isolated from the natural populations of the South of Ukraine. These strains are active against Colorado potato beetle larvae. The destruction of the pest on a 5 day after the potato leaves processing is 100, 94,7 and 93,3%. The new strains of bacteria are identified as the first serotype (B. thuringiensis var. thuringiensis). The obtained strains (0371 and 0486) by their technological properties are perspective for developing the preparation. It was shown, that the strain B. thuringiensis 787 from the Microbiomethod Laboratory Collection produces only ?- endotoxin and do not produces B-exotoxin. But it is active against Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say, Coleoptera) larvae and it can be a base for the development of new type of the biopreparations for agticultural plants protection against leaf-cutting insects.
