Has the chemometrics revolution ended? Some views on the past, present and future of chemometrics

A brief, personal review of the past history of chemometrics is given, along with an assessment of the state of the field today. Some problematic aspects of chemometrics are identified and discussed. Suggestions are offered for improvements in the image and position of chemometrics.
