Abstract
Multivariate evaluation of pharmacological data from lean and obese mice treated with leptin has been performed. To evaluate the difference between the groups, PC models have been calculated for both food intake and body weight for the four groups. By using Coomanʹs plot, the four groups could be separated both by food intake and body weight. The decrease in food intake following daily leptin treatment of both lean and obese mice is significant. A leptin indicator variable was added to the data set before building PLS models for the food intake. The PLS model based on food intake until the end of the leptin injection and initial body weight was successfully used to predict the body weight at the end of the treatment.
