Abstract
Unconstrained mixture experiments seldomly occur in practice and the constraints imposed on the component proportions considerably complicate the design of the experiment. In addition, the constraints initially specified by the engineers often leave the statistician with an empty design region. In this technical note, we show how integer programming may help the statistician to relax one or more constraints in order to remove the inconsistency.
