Abstract
The knowledge of water solubility versus temperature in jet aviation fuels is very important for water management in fuel systems of the aircraft. Experimental results have been obtained for three batches of one grade fuel T-1. The difference in water solubility could be explained by slight difference in fuel batches hydrocarbon composition and by the presence of natural surfactant traces. It has been shown that water solubility and temperature relationship may vary for the temperatures below and above zero likely of discontinuous change in entropy and enthalpy during first-order water/ice phase transition. The comparison of experimental and early published 25–50 years ago data shows that despite the relevance of the previously obtained data nevertheless, they need to be confirmed.
