Abstract
Resorcinarene-encapsulated nickel nanoparticles with an average diameter of 35 nm have been successfully fabricated. Characterization results by particle size analyzer show that the obtained nanoparitcles can be well dispersed in the JP-10. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX) indicate that resorcinarene are well capped on the nickel nanoparticles. A novel pseudohomogeneous method of catalytic decomposition of JP-10 is developed using these well-dispersed nickel nanoparticles. Compared with thermal decomposition, catalytic reaction of JP-10 on nickel nanoparticles exhibits remarkably enhanced conversion. The content of hydrogen and alkene of catalytic reaction is higher than that of thermal one from 540 to 600 °C.
