A 100 years of some wind loading provisions in Central and Eastern Europe

This paper deals with the main features of some wind loading provisions in Central and Eastern Europe from the end of the 19th century to present. They are design wind speeds, terrain categories and wind profiles, and gust response factors. Early assumptions and provisions as well as their changes throughout the last century are presented. In this context the influence of Davenportʹs ideas and works on those provisions are pointed out.
