Abstract
Lattice deformations and texture were induced in Fe72Al28 and Fe75Ni25 alloys by filing and cold rolling. The deformations and deformation-induced atomic and magnetic domain rearrangements were studied using X-ray diffraction, magnetization measurement and positron annihilation coincidence Doppler broadening spectroscopy. It is observed that both the nonequilibrium processes are generating quite different kinds of atomic and magnetic reordering. In the filed alloys, vacancies are playing major role in manipulating material properties while in the rolled alloys texture is more important. Filing creates much more severe strain than rolling and produces large number of positron trapping centers.
