Abstract :
DRXWin is a Windows based computer program that works with X-ray diffraction files from several diffractometers, and the files of Rietveld programs such as FullProf and RIET7. The main features are: plotting of diagrams (maximum nine) in an overlapped or stepped way; zooming, adding comments and grids, changing axis divisions, etc.; and customizing XRD patterns in color with white or black for the screen background colour. The program includes automatic peak search, the ability to add symbols to peaks (to label phases, etc), qualitative analysis by searching custom pattern databases, background correction, smoothing, peak area calculation, deconvolution of peaks, and 20 range removing. Additionally, one can combine experimental patterns (add and subtract) and rescale, save files in Windows MetaFile format to edit or merge in any word processor, and much more. CreaFit is a computer program for Windows that creates files of standard format to use with DRXWin. It reads PDF-2 database format (from the CD-ROM) as well as patterns from DRXWin and several diffractometers. Both programs are available in 16- and 32-bits version. Version 1.4 is a 16-bit application for Windows 3. lx and Windows 95; version 2.0 is a 32-bit program for Windows 95, NT or above.
