Lifeʹs Emergence is Not an Axiom: A Reply to Yockey

Yockeyʹs criticism of Elitzurʹs work and that of others on the origins of life is shown to be based on misrepresentations of the works criticized. Contrary to Yockeyʹs claim that complexity and entropy are equivalent, the relation between these two quantities is shown to be much more subtle, yielding novel insights into the physical uniqueness of the living state.
