Some convergence and divergence theorems for Hermite-Padé approximants

We prove that, under stated conditions, the algebraic approximants converge to the function being approximated. We also prove that the separation property convergence theorem of Baker et al. (1988) is sharp by proving a divergence theorem. In addition, we prove their “missing lemma”.
