Abstract :
We compare two finite difference schemes for Kolmogorov type of ordinary differential equations: Eulerʹs scheme (a derivative approximation scheme) and an integral approximation (IA) scheme, from the view point of dynamical systems. Among the topics we investigate are equilibria and their stability, periodic orbits and their stability, and topological chaos of these two resulting nonlinear discrete dynamical systems.
