Abstract
In this paper we obtain non-trivial bounds for the L q -spectra of self-similar measures without any separation conditions for q ⩽ 1 . As an application we obtain non-trivial upper bounds for the multifractal spectra of arbitrary self-similar measure without any separation conditions. Some examples illustrating our results are also discussed.
