Further Insights into the Use of the Split-Window Covariance Technique for Precipitable Water Retrieval

This article is the response to Barton and Prata’s article published in the same issue of this journal. Our purpose is to describe the conditions of use of the split-window covariance-variance ratio technique. The methodology is first presented and the ways to apply it correctly are investigated.
