Strongly Hewitt spaces

We investigate completely regular spaces X such that for any sequence (xn) in βX⧹X there exists a real continuous function on βX which is positive on X and vanishes on some subsequence of (xn). Applications to spaces of continuous functions C(X,E) are included.
