Abstract :
Mathematical models are developed which describe the dynamics of radiation-induced mortality of homogeneous and nonhomogeneous (in radiosensitivity) populations of mammals (mice). They relate statistical biometric functions with statistical characteristics and dynamics of a critical body system of individuals composing populations. The model of mortality of a nonhomogeneous population involves two types of distributions, normal and log-normal, of individuals with respect to the radiosensitivity of cells of the critical system. These models outline new pathways in developing the methods of radiation risk assessment.
