On coarse and fine neighbourhood operators

We introduce the concept of initial and final neighbourhood operators and apply them to describe the notion of connectedness in the sense of Arhangelʼskiı̌ and Wiegandt. We also introduce and discuss the separation axioms T 0 and T 1 .
