Problems and progress in nonholonomic reduction

We explore some analogies of Hamiltonian and nonholonomic systems in order to illustrate three things: First, some motivation for studying nonholonomic systems, second, a review of known results to see a current snapshot of the theory, and lastly, for inspiration to see some meaningful problems that are left to solve.
