Hydrodynamic models of traffic flow: Driversʹ behaviour and nonlinear diffusion

This paper deals with scalar hydrodynamic models of traffic flow on roads. The equivalence between models with diffusion and models with a driver is analyzed, putting in evidence equivalences and contradictions. A new model is proposed in order to refine the modelling of the driverʹs behaviour.
