Asymptotically singular boundary value problems

We study two point boundary value problems for second-order differential equations that have no solution if a boundary condtion is imposed at x = 0, but that do have a solution of boundary layer type if the boundary condition is given at x = ϵ, for small, positive values of ϵ. The study is motivated by various models for fluid flow past a small object.
