A two-dimensional nonlinear theory of anisotropic plates

We develop a two-dimensional theory of nonlinear, anistropic plates using the variational approach of Ciarlet. Under very general conditions on the elastic coefficient for the linear case, it is shown that there is a unique solution to the associated variational problem. Moreover, refined theories are constructed for these systems. With regard to nonlinear elastic plates, we consider Filonʹs nonlinear, anisotropic model. Dynamical, nonlinear models are also considered.
