A trigonometrically-fitted method for long-time integration of orbital problems

An explicit symmetric eight-step method is developed. The new method is trigonometrically-fitted and is of algebraic order eight. A stability analysis of the new method is presented. Numerical results from its application to well-known periodic orbital problems show the efficiency of the new method.
