Global solutions and self-similar solutions for nonlinear beam equations

In this paper we study the existence of global self-similar solutions of nonlinear beam equations with nonlinear terms | u | α − 1 u . By using a scaling technique and the Banach fixed point theorem, we first establish a general existence result. By using this general result to a special class of initial data we obtain the existence of global self-similar solutions.
