Abstract :
IT is used in health technology of information (HTI) to promote health education and optimization of health care and medical services. This area is a part of a more general field that is medical information. In medical information, medical data are collected, stored, analyzed, shared and demonstrated using computer and communication technology, so that the power of recognizing and perceiving medical issues would increase and decisions would become precise, timely and reliable. This study aims at examining the role of IT in enhancement of health quality, which has been studied in Hamedan city libraries and hospitals information centers. In this study, survey-descriptive method was used, and it is an applied research purpose-wise. The whole population of the study consists of 250 doctors and patients, out of which 150 were patients and 100 were doctors. Unfortunately only 100 of 150 patients and 77 of 100 doctors helped the researcher in data collection. The means of data collection in this study was a questionnaire established by the researcher including 10 closed questions. In order to analyze data, in addition to descriptive statistics Friedman’s inferential and U Mann Whitney test were used with SPSS17 software. Results showed that most of the informants (44.1 percent) deem the best way to inform patients about IT in hospitals library to be doctors. Most of the informants (31.7 percent) consider the influence of IT in hospitals library to be high on enhancement of patients’ health. There is a meaningful relationship between the group of informants and the best method of IT influence in hospitals library on promotion of patients’ health at reliability level of 99 percent.
