Abstract :
In this paper, we extend a flux-limiter method to obtain a 1D haemodynamic model of the aorta artery. For the validation of the proposed method, we use experimental data obtained from a fluid in a latex tube. We compare the results obtained by using the extended flux-limiter method, the Richtmyer two-step Lax–Wendroff scheme and a modified Steger–Warming method. The flux-limiter method provides accurate results avoiding numerical oscillation and numerical dispersion in the approximated solution. Finally, we simulate the fluid–structure interaction of the aorta artery with the flux-limiter solver.
