Abstract
In this paper we propose a new theoretical framework for describing continuous Boolean networks, which is based on dynamic graphs. It is shown that mathematical representations of this type allow for a broad range of interactions between the discrete and continuous variables in the system. Since the form of these interactions determines the dynamic properties of the network, the number of possible configurations can be significantly expanded in this way. In the context of gene regulation, this added flexibility can be used to formulate models that better reflect the physical nature of the underlying biochemical processes.
