Synthesis, reactivity and crystal structure of perfluoroalkylated diethoxyphosphinyl triphenylphosphorane

Synthesis and reactivity of perfluoroalkylated diethoxyphosphinyl triphenylphosphoranes is described. The crystal structure of [(1-diethoxyphosphinyl)-(2-dimethylmethylidene)-3,3,4,4,4-pentafluorobutylidene] triphenylphosphorane has been determined and the bond P-(ylide) order is 1.84 which accounts for its lower reactivity with benzaldehyde than diethoxyphosphinylmethylidene triphenylphosphorane.
