Abstract :
In this research the linear visco-elastic behaviour of glasphalt mixtures is investigated. Many models have been developed for predicting the visco-elastic behaviour of asphalt concrete pavements, but none exist for asphalt mixtures modified by the addition of waste glass. This paper presents the first experimental model of the visco-elastic behaviour of glasphalt mixtures that is able to describe this behaviour of glasphalt under dynamic loading and different temperatures. To achieve this goal, a series of repeated load axial tests are conducted under different temperatures of 40, 50 and 60 °C and stress levels of 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25 and 0.3 MPa. The effects of loading stress and temperature on the creep behaviour are investigated. Also the predictions from the Burgers model were compared with the experimental results. Result shown that both of experimental visco-elastic models and the Burgers model show a good precision in simulating the material creep response in visco-elastic range at least for the testing stress level and temperature given in this paper.
