Synthesis of amino acid-derived imidazoles from enantiopure N-protected α-amino glyoxals

A range of novel imidazoles, including three histidine derivatives, with chiral side chains derived from amino acids and dipeptides have been synthesised from N-Cbz-protected α-amino glyoxals.
