Abstract :
Tetra(p-halophenyl)ethylene derivatives (1a–1e) form stable inclusion complexes with various kinds of halogenated alkanes and alkenes through halogen–halogen interaction. These inclusion complexes were also obtained efficiently by exposure of the crystalline host to the guest vapor.
