Abstract
The electrochemical oxidation of different methoxynaphthalenes to afford the corresponding 5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinones has been examined. This method constitutes a new alternative and efficient route for the synthesis of the 5,8-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone nucleus.
