Abstract :
Exclusive Z-selectivity in the Ru-catalyzed bromoalkylation of alkynes with vinyl ketones is observed with aryl and other tertiary substituted acetylenic substrates, a feature that has led to an efficient synthesis of a COX-2 inhibitor.
