Abstract :
Dimethoxy[2.n]metacyclophanes (n=2–5) were formylated to produce pseudo-ipso and/or pseudo-ortho dialdehydes. The formyl group was transformed to a cinnamyl group to furnish multi-bridged cyclophanes.
