Abstract :
Isolation and examination of diterpene hydrocarbons produced by the fungus Phoma betae allowed us to determine the structures of eight compounds. Analysis by capillary GC with a cyclodextrin derived chiral stationary phase allowed us to determine the absolute configuration of the diterpenes. The occurrence of aphidicolenes, stemar-13-ene, pimara- and isopimaradienes demonstrates the diversity of diterpenes found in this fungus.
