Abstract :
Herein we report the synthesis of β-sulfinyl nitroxides via nucleophilic addition of α-lithiated sulfoxides to N-tert-butyl-α-phenyl nitrone and subsequent copperII-catalyzed oxidation of the β-sulfinyl hydroxylamine intermediate.
