Abstract
The deposition of Ni–P alloys in the temperature range from 0°C to 60°C has been studied. At low temperatures only Ni was deposited. With increasing temperature the amount of P in the deposited alloy increases. The proposed explanation is based on the known reaction mechanisms for electrodeposition and electroless deposition. The catalytic activity of the deposited alloys towards the hydrogen reaction was determined. The highest activity was found at 25°C.
