Binding of guest with monodeoxycalix[4]arene host in solid state

Binding of small neutral guest with solid monodeoxycalix[4]arene host was carried out. The solid apo-host can bind gaseous small organic guest; the guest selectivity in the cavity of solid apo-host is closely related to the free energy of complexation in solution.
